Health and Hope Clinic is a mission outreach of and financially supported by the Pensacola Bay Baptist Association (PBBA). Additionally, Health and Hope is supported by community individuals, groups and organizations. The clinic is a 501(c)3 organization under the umbrella of PBBA.
Founded in 2002, the clinic is the vision of family practice physician, Dr. Tonya Caylor and Bob Greene, Director of Missions for the Pensacola Bay Baptist Association. Dr. Caylor is the first medical director of the clinic serving from 2002 through June 2007.
Some 75 medical and non-medical volunteers answered Dr. Caylor's call to serve. Today, the clinic is lead by Dr. Randy Thompson, a highly regarded local internist. Dr. Paul McLeod, Director of the Florida State University Medical School in Pensacola and Dr. Coy Irvin, President of the Escambia County Medical Society are among the distinguished medical professionals who commit to serve clinic patients in a volunteer capacity. The clinic is supported by 42 active licensed health care providers and 37 non-medical professional volunteers.
